If you drive along the Lebuhraya Hubungan Timur Barat (East West Link) (E37) after Midvalley Megamall, you will see an impressive triangle shaped condominium. I've always wondered what this condominium was and after some checks I found that the units in this condominium is designed as bungalows in the sky. In fact, calling it an apartment/condominium would be a grave insult to the project. There are actually only 22 units (yes..you didn't hear wrongly) in the whole building with only 2 units per floor.
Architecture wise it is quite a sight to behold as it really stands out based on it's shape, drawing comparisons with YTL's Capers in Sentul. It's very odd shape and location just next to the highway makes it highly visible and could be a future landmark in Taman Desa.
The project is called Desa Eight Sky Villas by UOA Development (A listed entity on Bursa Malaysia). UOA Development is considered quite a reputable quality developer. I can't seem to find the price for the units. They have got 2 types of units, A and B raging from 3729sqft to 4526 sqft. It's even bigger than the 3000sqft landed superlink homes you see in the market today. The floor space design is quite functional with each sections carefully thought out. Only concern is all the units are all oddly shaped.
The targeted customers of these units are probably rich own stay people. However, I'm just wondering if there is such a demand for such units as just a stone throw away is Taman Desa's millionaire's row Armada Villa and Danau Villa. For a lay person like myself, I can't imagine what the maintenance cost would be like. With a building with only 22 units with world class facilities and landscaping, the maintenance fees to be paid would be sky high. But then again, people who buy into these units money will not be such a concern.
I see some agents trying to rent each unit out for RM15K per month. With this kind of pricing at this location, I think it's probably better to get KLCC units or the nearby Armada Villa and Danau Villa units.
